Strike pay
In connection with the revision of pay agreements it may become necessary to take
industrial conflict, such as a strike. Expenses regarding pay in the event of a strike or
a lockout are covered by the Stand by Fund. The volume of the pay is decided upon
by the Executive Board.
Legal assistance
The Stand by Fund covers expenses to members related to all legal assistance in
connection with their place of work. Any cases heard by a court of justice are prepared
and presented by the Working Committee. If the Working Committee refuses to put a
case forward, the member may appeal this decision to the Executive Board. The Union’s
lawyer also gives free telephonic consultations to its members regarding private
matters.
During the period 2005 – 2006 22 cases were heard by the courts, while 17 cases were
concluded. These 17 cases resulted in the members receiving compensation of NOK 6 million.
Course-and conference offer
The association is conducting a series of courses and conferences for members. Courses are presented at www.dnmf.no, and representatives conferences / tariff conferences will be announced continuously.
Collective life and funeral assistance to surviving
All members under 62 years are covered by a mandatory health insurance with the insured 120 000 NOK - to surviving.
The association also provides support for the burial 7500 NOK - to the surviving members, regardless of age or cause of death.

DNMF has 18 local preferred from north to south, headquartered in Oslo, offshore office in Stavanger and an office in Ålesund.
